After a refreshing summer break, our Charting Opportunities series is back! We’re kicking things off on Wednesday, August 13th, with a topic that sits at the very core of every successful business: the legal framework that protects it.
As a business owner, your focus is on growth, innovation, and serving your customers. But what about the foundational documents that support everything you’ve built? Whether you’re planning for an eventual sale, preparing to transition the business to the next generation, or simply want to sleep better at night, the strength of your legal agreements is paramount.
This is a subject we’ve touched on before. You might recall our conversation with Jay Ripley of GEM, who detailed how private equity firms scrutinize a company’s financial and legal health before an acquisition. A disorganized or incomplete set of legal documents can stall a deal or significantly impact valuation.
This session is the perfect opportunity to ensure your house is in order, and we’re excited to welcome attorney and CPA David Vines to guide us through this critical landscape.
Get Clarity with an Expert
With over 30 years of experience counseling clients on estate, tax, and business planning, David Vines brings a rare dual perspective as both a seasoned attorney and a licensed CPA. He has advised businesses of all sizes, from main-street companies to ultra-high net worth families, helping them navigate the complexities of succession, asset protection, and wealth transfer.
This is your chance to gain direct insights from a leading expert. David will demystify the essential legal documents that every business owner must have in place and fully understand.
Join us as David covers:
- Operating and Shareholder Agreements: Are yours up-to-date? Do they properly address ownership changes, disputes, or the exit of a partner?
- Key Contracts: Analyzing the strength and potential liabilities in your customer and supplier agreements.
- Leases and Asset Protection: Ensuring your real estate and equipment leases are sound and your personal assets are shielded from business creditors.
- Succession and Estate Planning: The intersection of your business and personal legacy.
This event is a must for any business owner who wants to move forward with confidence, knowing their legal foundation is solid. Bring your questions for an interactive Q&A session following the presentation.
